Hello! How’s your week been? My son and I just returned from a homeschooler’s Spring Break in New York City. I look forward to doing a fun City Stories about visiting the city with a tween. It’s next-level fun and completely different from previous trips we’ve taken there with Tom.
On another note, our home was recently featured on the blog Cup of Joe! I am still humbled and overjoyed that people want to feature our old house. While on the subject of Mississippi, jump below for a recap of everything I found to do and see on the Coast of Mississippi. Enjoy! - Erin
I grew up in Mississippi, yet we would head to Long Boat Key, Florida, in the summers to enjoy the beach. I would watch dolphins from the balcony in the morning, build sand castles for hours before the afternoon showers rolled in, and then run back to the condo for an afternoon strawberry shortcake from local strawberries we picked up on the drive into town.
As we drove down to Florida from Oxford, Mississippi, we bypassed the Mississippi Coast, leaving me a state native who had never been to the Coast— until recently. Every time I tell someone this fact, they are completely shocked. And with good reason, I can’t really explain it either. I have no great excuse, and now, that’s been resolved.
With the invitation to participate in a group show at the Gail Keenan Art Center in Longbeach, my son and I jumped at the chance to spend a week on the Coast and do what we love to do most: explore the area, eat good food, and see any and all art we could find.
